01A choice the treasury remembers
The consent key records whether you allow display preferences and when the choice expires. It stays for at most 365 days so the notice does not repeat unnecessarily. It is local storage, not a tracking cookie.
02Comfort, only with permission
Allowing preferences creates a second key for reduced decorative motion. Without that permission you may still change the display for this page. The knight’s position and rubies never enter either record.
03A fresh browser choice
Necessary only removes the optional display record. Clear site choices removes both site keys and shows the banner again. Other websites, emailed messages and the current knight’s board are unaffected.
